I refuse to abandon film! Shoot in medium format regularly, using 3 real old Rolleiflex tlr cameras, vintage early 50's, and a Rolleicord. Nothing automatic, heavy as a brick, but give astonishing results. Great for portrait work. Makes you work at it, but real satisfying.

What is it about classically-styled cameras that inspire such lust? It's the same indescribable reason I like mechanical chronographs - maybe it's a backlash to the "here today, gone tomorrow, cutting edge" zeitgeist.

Is there anything in the digital world that is similarly gorgeous and functional? Maybe a Leica D-Lux or M8?
