Originally established in 1949, Onitsuka Tiger has been experiencing a modern day resurrection and is riding a tsunami of momentum with fresh updates to their classic designs. Born from old school 1900-1920 Olympic Tug of War shoes, Onitsuka Tiger combines one part sneaker, one part chukka boot, and one part moccasin to produce one of their more intriguing sneakers, the Tsunahiki Lo.

Although this author, for one, can’t pronounce the name properly, the Tsunahiki Lo manages to combine all of their strengths and none of their weaknesses into one shoe. Fittingly, the shoe features a combo leather (the sneaker part) and suede (the chukka part) upper with a funky black rubber sole. All the parts are then combined with a lightweight, hand-stitched, moccasin-type conglomeration. A padded foot bed is added to provide additional comfort.

Besides being ridiculously comfortable, the best part about this shoe its unique, stylish look. The Tsunahiki Lo is not only a hybrid of materials but also an all-purpose shoe that easily dresses up with a shirt and tie or dresses down with jeans and a t-shirt. Would you expect anything less from a hybrid? After all, we’ve all seen Underworld. Hybrids rule.

Cost: $85
