The new Apple MacBooks manage to hold their own when it comes to sound, but anyone looking for a little oomph will be sorely disappointed by the sheer lack of bass. As is to be expected - this is a laptop we’re talking about after all. Twelve South aims to rectify that with the new BassJump, a portable USB powered subwoofer that gives your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air additional performance by taking over all lower frequency duties. The BassJump utilizes custom DSP software (and sharp looking to boot, complete with analog VU meters) to allow you to adjust your settings depending on the music you’re listening to. Like other Twelve South products, the BassJump does not fall short in the style department.
