Released today for the first time on Blu-ray, The Mel Brooks Collection includes nine must-have movies for anyone who loves the king of parody. The titles include Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, High Anxiety, History of The World Part 1, Robin Hood Men In Tights, Silent Movie, To Be Or Not To Be, and Twelve Chairs. All that’s missing from the set is The Producers, and the underwhelming Dracula Dead and Loving It. Along with the movies, buyers also receive a 120 page 11″ x 8″ hard bound book that details Brooks’ life, as well as all manner of information surrounding each of the 9 films bundled in the set.
For roughly $10 per Blu-ray disc (if you do the math, and we did), and a substantive book, this set is a steal for anyone in need of a laugh only Brooks can deliver. Oh, and beautiful image quality to match.
