Neato Robotics XV-11 Robotic Vacuum
Roombalternative

By Gear Patrol Reader Zach Zornischenko:
If only there was a device that would vacuum your domicile everyday and do it without complaint. If you are lucky, you have someone else to handle this task for you, but, if you are like me, the only other alternative is a robot. I introduce you, my fellow menial task-despising-friends, to the Neato Robotics XV-11, a new vacuuming robot that aims to clean up after you (and iRobot’s venerable Roomba).
The XV-11’s outward appearance may not stir up much excitement but it does everything you’d expect; it cleans all floor types, has a scheduling function, and is touted as the most powerful robotic vacuum with a jet engine-like centrifugal compression impeller. Yeah, we were impressed too. The coolest feature, though, is that it has laser beams attached to its frickin’ head! Fortunately for it’s masters, it is not ill-tempered. It utilizes those lasers to map the room and obstacles therein to neatly travel in straight lines, under and around furniture, instead of randomly circling, which invariably leads to missing entire swaths of your floor.
Author’s Note: Neato offers a 30-day money back guarantee and a 1 year warranty.
