Say goodbye to “scalding laptop syndrome” – Rain Design’s iLap is engineered to keep your MacBook or MacBook Pro up off of your lap, allowing for plenty of air circulation underneath, as well as to prop up your computer to a more comfortable wrist angle. Connected to the front of the iLap’s lightweight silver anodized aluminum frame is a velvet wrist pad, and in back is a padded base with a slight swivel action that conforms to the angle of your legs. The wrist pad can be removed so that the iLap can be used on a desktop with just the right slant for easy keyboard maneuvering and good posture. I notice that while using the iLap, my computer’s fan does not cycle on and off as would be the case if my MacBook were plopped right onto my legs. So, using a laptop during the summer while wearing shorts is now a possibility.

My MacBook has a sharp edge along the case, and after typing for a while, it starts to dig into my wrists. As an added bonus, the iLap is the perfect solution to this problem – the wrist pad cushions the front of the laptop, making it very comfortable for extended periods. Available in 12”, 13” widescreen, 14”, 15” 15” widescreen, and 17” widescreen.
