Monster In the Middle
Ducati has expanded the Monster line with the new 2011 Ducati Monster 796 ($9,995). Slotted right between the ease of the entry level Monster 696 and road-shredding Monster 1100 (S), the 796 is focused on user friendliness and top-end components. Of course, the fact that it’s oozing Italian bad-assery doesn’t hurt.
Keeping with the signature tubular trellis frame Monster look, the 367 lb Monster 796 will pack an 87 hp (56 lb/ft torque) air-cooled L-Twin cylinder engine, new (more comfortable) seat design, revised handlebar layout, passenger grab handles, single sided swingarm, 4-piston Brembo brakes, APTC wet multiplate clutch, 6-speed transmission, and a new five spoke wheel design.
Side Note: Ducati is also offering 10 additional “Monster Art” body kits for the entire Monster lineup.
