For what seems like eons we’ve wondered when the staff of The New York Times would package their treasure trove of lifestyle content into an app. And no, not the disappointing Editor’s Choice iPad app.
The Scoop (free) is just that. An app that lists the Times staff’s favorite restaurants, bars, events, and experiences. You can read Pete Wells’ (Dining editor) favorite bars, Sam Sifton’s (restaurant critic) 50 favorite restaurants, New York insider events, and recommendations all updated regularly. Keep track of the places you’ve gone and share what you’ve done on Facebook, Twitter, and text messages. Only downside? There’s not one for every other city. With 8.3 million NY’ers we suppose we’ll let this one slide for now. Now, about Android…
