Watch This | Wolverine 1000 Mile 721LTD Project: Horween

By Eric Yang on July 7, 2010

Commemorating Wolverine’s 125+ years of history and the original reference number of the 1000 Mile boot, Wolverine has commissioned a series of films by Sean Sullivan to document the process of boot making in advance of the 721LTD Boot release. The resulting work is a beguiling glance at the meaning of true American craftsmanship and, in my humble opinion, this country’s grassroots manufacturing renaissance.

The first of the films takes us to Chicago based Horween Leather (see: GP’s interview with Nick Horween), producers of the high quality shell cordovan leather used on the Wolverine. Our affinity for factory tours aside, this filmic coalescence is certainly worth watching.
