Panasonic Lumix GF2
The High-Def Sequel

How do you create a follow-up to one of the most groundbreaking and beloved cameras in recent history? First, don’t mess with it – stick with incremental improvements. And thankfully, Panasonic has done exactly that. The conservative, but welcome updates include: an improved 12.1 megapixel Live MOS sensor paired to a faster Venus Engine FHD processor for full 1080p video capture and lightning-quick 23 area autofocus with single-point mode, stereo mic, a more compact and lighter body, alongside a massive 3″ full Touch Q touch-screen interface, and continued compatibility with an arsenal of fantastic (albeit pricey) lenses. You can call us old-school, but the biggest downside we can see is the loss of the manual dial mode interface. Then again, there are the new 14mm f2.5 kit and 12.5mm 3D lenses. Available January 2011.
