You’ve got a bag you travel with. It’s summer so you probably have it out in full force. Question is, are you using your gym bag as double-duty? If so then stop.
You’re not in college anymore so get your travel gear in order. PUMA’s Urban Mobility Out of Town Collection focuses on streamlined and sophisticated travel. The kind of traveling you do. We’re big fans of the Large Cargo and Duffle Bags. They’ve got an effortless modern aesthetic and perfect for those of you who don’t go for the full-leather look.
More on the bags and gear you see after the jump.

That umbrella sitting in the corner of your room may be able to take on the rain, but can it take on a 200 pound man in an a street fight first?
Yeah, didn’t think so. The street legal Unbreakable Umbrella is a 1 lb 11 oz brolly that can hit with the force of a steel pipe. If you know how to swing a bat then you know how to use the Unbreakable Umbrella and the best part is that its discreet (potential street goons reading this post might want to take heed) Almost makes you wish it was raining thugs. It’s time to expand on that one pair of cufflinks you bought five years ago. Oh, and if you’re wondering… no, those cufflinks with your initials you received at graduation won’t make the cut anymore. Take our advice: skip the department store brands and go for a brand like Zachary Prell.
This Spring, Zachary Prell introduced mother of pearl and cat’s eye cufflinks. The Rivington and Stanton are our preference and shown here. The Rivington cufflink is a multi-tone blue mother of pearl cufflink with highly polished rhodium plating. The Stanton is an amathyst cat’s eye cufflink also constructed with highly polished rhodium plating. [Detail images after the jump]
Cost: $145 @ Zachary Prell

Summer’s in full swing and you’re out there giving it your all. You’re sporting best equipment, rackets, clubs, shoes and apparel and we know that because you’re an avid Gear Patrol reader. But there’s one thing you’ve overlooked. We’re talking about your feet. Socks to be exact.
It’s easy to forget that socks are an essential part of comfort. Not to worry, because your about to purchase a pair of Adidas ClimaCool No Show socks. Not only do they feature ClimaCool technology to wick moisture away from your feet and help keep them cool, but they also provide extra cushioning in the heel, ball and toe areas. Trust me, these socks do make a difference.

You gents should know that poor vision can be one of your greatest fashion advantages. You get to wear glasses and there are times when optical eyewear can be the make-or-break piece in an ensemble. Skip Lenscrafters and the licensed pieces you find at your optician. Upgrade your optical eyewear to a pair like these Oliver Peoples Grayson glasses. Available in horn, olive tortoiseshell, sycamore (my personal favorite), and black.
Sure, it will take a step more effort since they can only be fitted at an Oliver Peoples Boutique, but for something that will set you apart, it’s a step well worth taking. Boutique locations in New York (Uptown, Midtown, SOHO), Tokyo, Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, and Malibu.
Cost: $350 @ Oliver Peoples

Sometimes when I’m traveling abroad it’s kind of a pain in the arse to stay organized and remain compact. Usually I have my wallet in one pocket, passport in another, boarding passes in another, and a bunch of other gear spread out between the 10 pockets on my carry-on bag. Yes, it might be a personal problem, but I know I can’t be the only one with this issue because REI has developed a sweet travel wallet.
The REI travel wallet is thin with the dimensions of a paper back book. It might not fit in your pocket, unless you have pretty big one, but it is a nice repository for all your travel stuff. From a company that makes all types of gear for the adventurer in mind, you know a lot of thought has gone into this wallet.
Features include: Clam-shell design, eight interior card pockets, three larger pockets to hold: passport, tickets, itineraries and receipts, two interior zippered mesh pockets, interior pen pocket, and exterior pocket for airline ticket. Constructed of 420-denier nylon for durability.
What this means to you: Being organized saves time , so have another round at the airport bar my friend, cause you’re good.
Cost: $19 @ REI

Salvatore Ferragamo has a sharp looking translation of the traditional messenger bag with their Toronto Cafe.
The Toronto Cafe is a crossbody messenger bag that is specifically designed to be worn across the body. Its adjustable woven strap is detailed with the Ferragamo logo and the bag is constructed of Italian leather with a top zip closure, front pocket, interior zip pocket, and a great looking brown canvas lining I had a hard time
Cost: $550 @ Nordstrom

Walking or biking the streets late at night isn’t always the safest thing to do. However there are many of us, including myself, that consider ourselves to be night owls. Whether we’re carrying around books, clothes or gear, a good messenger bag is ever useful. How do you turn a good bag into a great one? Just ask Timbuk2. Their new Covert Messenger features a wide strip of black fabric that reflects light when hit from a light source, such as headlights or a flashlight.
What makes this messenger “covert” is that it looks just like a normal messenger during the day. The unique center panel has a tight weave that hides the 3M reflective filament below . At night, however, when the black fabric is hit by a light source, it lets in just enough light to allow the reflective material underneath to shine. If you’re a Timbuk2 fan, there’s no need to worry. You still get all the same great features that you would come to expect from the brand, the internal organizer pockets, extra-heavy-duty stitching and waterproof liner. They’ve just added a little extra something to keep you safe at night.
What this means to you: What you do in the wee hours of the night is up to you, but go about it safely.
Cost: $150 @ Onlineshoes
