With winter officially here (for us Floridians), I figured it was time to buy a pair of boots. Most magazines will have men buy shoes/clothing an entire season in advance, but I prefer the just-in-time approach. So, in lieu of sporting Timbos this year, I decided to go with another classic.
The Clarks Desert Boot was inspired by the crepe-soled boots British officers wore in World War II. They’ve endured the past 5 decades virtually unchanged, still sporting features like soft supple suede, full-grain leather uppers, and a genuine plantation crepe outsole. The Desert Boot is built and designed to deliver all day comfort, and it does.
Clarks is known for building quality boots that last, and unlike those acid washed jeans you rocked way back, their style is here to stay. If they’re anything like my Wallabees, they will only get better with time.
Cost: $89

When it comes to buying a pair of sneakers, I’m on a mission. I probably own far more than I need, but rocking the same pair everyday isn’t my thing and as a Gear Patrol reader I’m sure it’s not yours either. As I’ve grown older and become a little more refined (ha), my tastes have changed a bit. I have accumulated a sense of style, but still yearn to be my own man. I used to rock the bulky skater shoes because… well… I skated. That and normal sneaks just couldn’t handle the wear and tear that comes from clearing a gap or 5-0’ing the ledge across town.
The skater in me still wants the skater shoe, but without the all the bulk and a little more style. After all my searching I can say SUPRA footwear was exactly what I had in mind. The slick styling of uber kicks and the durability of a skate shoe. With features like premium leather, high memory polyurethane insoles and injected SupraFoam, how can you go wrong?
I opted for a pair of Vaiders and when staring down my collection of shoes for a chill night out, I go for these almost every time. Not only are they styling and attention garnering, they’re comfortable.
Whether you’re looking for a High-top, Low-top, Slip-on, and\or Funky ass colors, SUPRA’s the brand for you.

In November 1919, President Wilson proclaimed November 11th as the first commemoration of Armistice Day with the following words:
“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”
We here at GP give salute to many things, but nothing is more worthy of one then the men and women who have served this country. Originally known as Armistice Day, it officially became Veterans Day in 1954.
This salute goes to recognize those who have sacrificed and endured the hardships that come with serving one’s country. On this day we commemorate the selfless acts and dedication shown to our country and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
As a proud veteran myself I extend my arms to you and conclude with a shit hot salute.

The Duke

Saturday, Fort Walton Beach - 80 degrees in October, not a cloud in the sky… think I’m going to ride. As a gear freak I’m always out and about trying to find the new hotness. On this particular day, I was cruising along the Gulf Coast throwing the deuces to my fellow riders when I came across a KTM dealership. Naturally, I decided to take a look and encountered the awe-spiring KTM 990 Super Duke.
KTM is an Austrian motorcycle manufacturer which began producing motorcycles 1954. They’re most commonly known for their off road motorcycles, and in recent years have expanded into street bikes. By the looks of this beautiful monster they’re off to a good start.
The KTM 990 Super Duke sports a fuel injected 2 cylinder 4 stroke V-twin engine with 999cc’s of displacement. Brembo brakes will make sure you have all the stopping power you’ll need after firing through 6 gears en route to serious ass hauling.
It goes without saying that the dealer probably knew I was up to no good, but the stance on the Duke wasn’t overly aggressive and the bike was incredibly light, almost felt like sitting on an old school Haro.
Editor’s Note: Looks like KTM is making their mark on the street bike world and the 990 Super Duke is a prime specimen.
Cost: $15,000

Definitely Not A Rental Paintball Gun

Looking for an all around kick ass paintball marker? Then look no further than the Tippmann A-5. With its all aluminum die cast receiver and extra-sturdy black finish, the A-5 is one of the toughest markers available. Its patented Cyclone Feed System links the feeder sprocket to the air system, giving it the power to unleash a fury of balls as fast as you can fire them. Other features include a shock-absorbing end cap for reduced wear and recoil; front-cocking knob, which allows for a fully enclosed receiver; and a 200-round wide-mouth hopper. In addition, it can be upgraded with many different accessories. My recommended configuration of choice is the Flatline Barrel System.
This marker is fully customizable and can be built to look like anything from an MP-5 to a M-82 Barret, so I wouldn’t recommend just walking down the street with one, unless you’re planning to go Michael Douglas in Falling Down.
The Tippmann A-5 gets my endorsement amongst the paintball gun litter and is an absolute must for scenario play. This bad boy is tough and often referred to as the AK-47 of paintball guns. So, if you’re looking for you next marker or a annoying cat deterrent, the Tippmann A-5™ should be at the top of your list, if not the only one on it.
Cost: $250+ (depending on configuration) @ Tippmann | A5 Builder (very cool)

You think you have a sweet speed boat? Great. Now you don’t. At least not with this beautiful monster on the waters. From the same guys that bring you the 911 GT3 RS, Porsche design mashed up with Fearless Yachts to create the Fearless 28. What is the Fearless 28 you may ask? Well according to the guys over at Porsche design it’s:
“A luxury speed boat that can be defined as the perfect fusion of performance and aesthetics.”
If by performance and aesthetics you mean a 525hp Viper power plant with a top speed of more than 80 mph and curves like ’she got it from her momma,’ then yes, this is a luxury speed boat. For those of you that haven’t hauled ass across open waters, then first I feel sorry for you. But either way, you’ll need to be fearless yourself to top out the Fearless 28. [Additional images after the jump]
Cost: $300,000 @ Fearless Yachts by Porsche Design
