To this day, Heat stands as one of director Michael Mann’s defintiive films, and certainly as a home movie essential. Who can forget the first movie to ever pair Robert De Niro and Al Pacino (at the same time, in a too-brief climactic scene), the tension riddled dramatic storyline, or what stands as one of the best shootouts every brought to the silver, or plasma, screen. Turn up your home theater’s volume and laugh at the ridiculously accurate recording of echoing automatic gunfire. Of course, the three hour runtime isn’t a casual evening watch, but rather an epic crime thriller any man should own – and now you can for about half the price of a normal blu-ray. Done.
