Running = Friction = Winter Warmth

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 10

For this writer, winter means running. Perhaps it’s a futile effort to counteract my ridiculous holiday eating or maybe I’m just looking to warm my bones through kinetic activity; either way, I’m starting to pound the pavement. I’ve been accused of running just as an excuse to get new gear (there are worse reasons, right?), and the latest from our friends at Brooks Running proves my strategy sound.

Their new Adrenaline GTS 10 shoe is an update to their venerable support shoe and it only improves on its predecessors’ legacies. Featuring Brooks’s innovative BioMoGo biodegradable midsole, the latest Adrenalines offer that good green feeling, along with great on-road performance. My first 20 or so miles in them have seen them break in quickly and produced minimal joint impact, a problem that has plagued me when wearing a lesser running shoe.

It’s no wonder that Runner’s World honored this shoe with its recent “Best Update” award. If you don’t know the Brooks name, you should. Check this handy-dandy chart to see how their models stack up against other (less comfortable, more expensive) shoes that you might be used to wearing. Your feet (and ankles and knees and hips) will thank you.
