Laser-Focused on Honoring our Soldiers

Bushnell Tour V2 Laser Rangefinder Patriot Pack

We’ve touted the benefits of golf rangefinders in the past (Bushnell’s included) and we’re not planning to change our tune at this juncture. Quite the opposite, actually, as Bushnell is upping the ante by offering their award-winning Tour V2 Rangefinder in a special edition package supporting the families of fallen and wounded soldiers through the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Essentially, the Tour V2 Patriot Pack (which hearkens to Folds of Honors Nationwide Patriot Golf Day) nets you the Tour V2 Rangefinder, a nifty zip/magnetized case, 2 skins for the rangefinder, and an extra battery. We applaud Bushnell for appropriating a percentage of the Patriot Pack’s sales to the Folds of Honor Foundation, as well as helping to increase awareness of their work and events. Hit the jump to get our take on the Tour V2 and to find out more about Folds of Honor.

The golf rangefinder is a pretty straightforward concept that offers invaluable information to any golfer that wields one. That’s we love the Tour V2; it does its job with extreme accuracy and ease. Its form factor makes it simple to store and grip and its construction offers good water-resistance and durability. The Tour V2’s +/- 1 yard accuracy sets the standard, but our tests showed that Bushnell’s “Pinseeker” technology is what sets this unit apart and ahead of the pack. More so than any other rangefinder we’ve tested, the Tour V2 exhibited lightning-quick target acquisition and an unmatched ability to discern the desired target (i.e. the flagstick) from background objects. The Tour V2 does what it’s supposed to do without fail – case closed. That earns the unit unmitigated Gear Patrol approval.

Speaking of folks that are getting the job done, it would be worth your time to read up on the good people at Folds of Honor. The beneficiary of Patriot Golf Day and the Tour V2 Patriot Pack, they provide educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members who have been disabled or killed in service to our our nation and Armed Forces. The foundation was conceived and founded by PGA Professional Dan Rooney, an F-16 Pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, golf course owner, USGA member, and veteran of three combat tours in Iraq. To date, they’ve awarded over 850 scholarships to deserving family members of our nation’s servicemen and women. That’s an accomplishment worthy of their cause. That demands a “Well done, Bushnell” and a “Well done, Folds of Honor”.
