Cold Steel SRK | Survival Rescue Knife

To date, our experience with Cold Steel knives has taught us that they are unequivocally awesome blades. Though our penchant leans more often towards folding knives, there’s no denying that the purpose-built fixed blade can be an irreplaceable implement. That’s why, whether you are a Navy Seal or a backwoods weekend warrior, the Cold Steel SRK can inspire in you a new level of razor-edged confidence.

Standing for Survival/Rescue Knife, the SRK features a 6″ blade of AUS 8A Stainless which has been coated in Teflon for resistance to the elements and elimination of glare. With a beefy 3/16″ thickness to support its virtually hypodermic clip point, this is one strong knife. With a blade this bold, it’s easy to overlook the features and details of the grip (which is of utmost importance as the point of connection), but, luckily, Cold Steel is on the money in that department. The shaped finger-guard and checkered Kraton grip offer superb tactile control. Rounding out the package is Cold Steel’s Secure-Ex sheath, an essential accessory that we’re glad to see included.
