2011 AEV Wrangler Hemi
Armageddon is just around the corner. Okay, maybe not. But just in case, there are some niche vehicles out there that are up to the task (you know, traversing washed out roads, bludgeoning snowbanks and mowing down zombies). American Expedition Vehicles knows. They just built one such vehicle by outfitting a standard Jeep Rubicon 4×4 with their options package and called it the AEV Wrangler Hemi, with a beastly 5.7 liter Hemi V8 shoehorned into the engine compartment, for your revving pleasure. Mated to a 5-speed automatic, the Hemi belches out 360 horsepower and 390 pound feet of torque, making it potent for on-road passing and cruising and Yak-like capable off-road. Apparently, AEV wants to up the ante even more by entertaining the notion of putting in a 6.4 liter powerhouse. Talk about a new way to pull out your loose teeth. Replete with beefed up suspension via custom shocks and springs, 35 inch BFGoodrich monster tires on 17-inch AEV wheels, and optional deep-water snorkels, bigger splash guards and the all-important winch, the AEV Wrangler Hemi has the ability to get you out of trouble effectively and with an appropriate does of manliness. Its enhanced on-road and off-road capability do more than enough justice to the Wrangler’s already iconic status. So, it’s still a good idea not to mess with mother nature, but if you have to, bring this along.
