Rack Opinion

The Rack by J.L. Lawson & Co.

Can a key rack inspire lust? It might if it comes from the Joshua Tree, CA shop of J.L. Lawson & Co. Applying three generations of machining knowhow, father and son duo Floyd Lawson and son Anthony have created an impressive collection of small steel goods and accessories. Their latest creation, The Rack ($58), might prove to be the best application of their trade. Hand-machined from cold-rolled steel, the monolithic bauble is pretty simple — it holds keys, opens bottles, and magnetizes to your fridge or other metal surfaces — but with looks like this, that’s perfectly fine with us. Limited to 99 pieces.

More photos and a making-of film are right after the jump.
