Pioneer CDJ-2000nexus

Tech : Electronics By Photo by Pioneer

Pioneer’s newest CDJ-2000nexus flagship gets everything right but the name — and we’re not referring to the potential confusion with Android products. That’s because the newly integrated Wifi compatibility allows the pro turntable to play everything from streaming music on computers, iPhones, iPods, and iPads to USB thumb drives, SD memory cards, and yes, even CDs. Wave Zoom, a notable feature, allows DJs to select up five different levels of magnification for faster cue point hunting when viewing wave data on the integrated WQVGA 6.1-inch (480 x 234) LCD panel. Additional new goodies like slip mode allow tracks to continually play silently in the background until loops or scratching effect have ended, while Quantize insures cue points and loops are automatically set on the beat — making precisions transitions less of a headache. Those in need of true autopilot can utilize beat sync to miraculously match tempo and beat location of music playing on one device to any other. Otherwise, things haven’t changed much from theCDJ-2000. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?

Pair it up with the DJM 900nexus mixer for the must cutting-edge Pro setup around, short of the Emulator. Can’t afford to blow more than two Gs to fuel your music addiction? Then consider the XDJ Aero Dj Controller.
