Having driven the Porsche Panamera Turbo S, we can say without reservation that it’s frighteningly fast and about as attractive and attention-getting as a boil on your neck. Porsche has opted to change some of the Panamera’s aesthetic with their Panamera Sport Turismo Concept, essentially a Panamera in wagon/shooting brake form that takes the best of the sedan and leaves the rest behind.

Early pictures prior to the Paris Motor Show reveal a body that’s far better off by losing the less than endearing rear hatch bulge in favor of a more abbreviated rear. Most notably, the car is missing side mirrors, replaced by cameras mounted in the side vents. The fascia has been updated too, lending to the notion that a mid-cycle refresh for the Panamera is on the way (and needed). An all-new instrument and control panel is also expected. Right now, it looks like if production takes place, the first model will be the e-hybrid model with a 416 horsepower engine and a lithium ion battery. A turbo hopefully will follow shortly after. All we know is that this concept, unlike its sedan brother, didn’t get repeatedly whacked by the ugly stick.
