The Bowtie has pulled the wraps off its pride and joy, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and the result is impressive: design language is evocative of past Corvettes, while embarking on a more aggressive, more sophisticated look. The undeniable Corvette front end is more angular, as is the rear treatment, which keeps the quad taillights that mimic the Corvette emblem. Ferrari-like side windows that blend handsomely with the C-pillars are no coincidence. The Stingray name is no mistake, either, bringing back memories of the C2. The new base Vette will be powered by a 6.2-liter V8 LT1 engine with a fire-breathing 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Count on a 0-60 time in a scintillating sub-4 seconds and a proper 7-speed manual transmission (work out those forearms). Expect the ZR1 to be even more bonkers. The C7 goes on sale in the third quarter of 2013.
