In 2016, Apple, Dell and Google all announced laptops that ditched the old USB charging port in favor of USB-C. Smartphones also caught on, with the Huawei Nexus 6P and the LG Nexus 5X, among others, all rocking USB-C ports. And the future iPhone 7 is rumored to adopt the port as well.
