A New Vintage Beauty
The Achingly Beautiful Moto Guzzi V7 Evolves for 2017
The popularity of the modern classic style motorcycle is at an all-time high. Ease of operation and rider comfort may be credited with beckoning the masses onto two wheels, but it’s the bikes’ timeless design that makes them so damned appealing. To celebrate 50 years of their iconic V7, Moto Guzzi has just pulled the wraps off of the V7 III line of modern classics. Built as an evolution of their best-selling bike, the anniversary models have been completely re-worked, including revisions to the uniquely Guzzi transverse-mounted V-twin powerplant, to deliver more power (52 horsepower and 44.3 lb-ft of torque), sharper handling and an extra porzione di bellezza.
The V7 III line will continue to be available in three flavors with the Stone, the Special, and our personal favorite, the achingly cool, individually numbered Racer. There will also be a limited run of 750 commemorative Annivarsario editions. All models receive a healthy dose of modern tech in the form of ABS brakes, selectable traction control and Moto Guzzi’s own interactive MG-MP, an app-based media platform that lets riders view a multitude of bike parameters as well as record trip information. For instance, a spirited lap or two around Guzzi’s Lake Como headquarters.
