Good morning. A 16-year-old’s plea for a one-year supply of free chicken nuggets from Wendy’s is now the most retweeted tweet in history. In April, Carter Wilkerson tweeted at Wendy’s, asking “how many retweets for a year of free chicken nuggets?” to which Wendy’s replied, “18 million.” The tweet went on to receive more than 3,470,000 retweets, hundreds more than the previous record holder, Ellen DeGeneres’s famous Oscars selfie.

Today’s Gear

What’s New, Now

Amazon Echo Show

Virtual assistants are “hands-free” up to a certain point. We can ask all sorts of complex questions, but as soon as we ask them to actually show us something, like music lyrics or a YouTube video, we’re forced to pull out our phones and use some clumsy companion app. The solution is the Echo Show: basically, all the greatness of the Echo, with an added screen and camera, video calling, security-camera live streaming, video news briefings and more.

Air Jordan 13 Golf

The Air Jordan 13 came out in 1997, and that was a pretty fine year for His Airness. He led the Bulls as they capped off a second three-peat, then hung up his sneaks (almost) for good. Now, Nike has recreated the iconic shoe with an eye towards MJ’s other pastime — golf. Coming May 18.

Alpine Start Premium Instant Coffee

Inveterate coffee drinkers may be dubious of an instant variety, but they have yet to try Alpine Start. A delicious brew — hot or iced — whenever you need it. Unlike your Nescafe-type instants, Alpine Start won’t turn into sandy glop in cold water or milk. They guarantee a fine cup of Colombian blend coffee at home or in the Alps.

PANGEA Cuba Libre Swim Trunk Collection

PANGEA’s latest collection of swimwear hearkens to 40’s-era Cuba, with bold, brightly colored prints inspired by Havana’s historic walls. It’s easy to imagine Ernest Hemingway, who back then was an expat in Cuba, wearing these retro trunks as he wandered the city’s sunny alleyways, tobacco pipe dangling from his mouth.

Maille’s Limited Edition White Truffle Mustard

In celebration of its 270th anniversary, Maille has released a limited edition mustard, containing some of the finest ingredients in the world: white truffles from Alba, Italy, Chardonnay from Burgundy, France and, of course, Maille’s world-famous creamy dijon from southern France.

Velomacchi Hybrid Duffel Pack 50L

One of my favorite pieces of kit over the last two years has been my Velomacchi Speedway Roll-Top Backpack. Now the forward-thinking Portlandian outfit has released an all-new 50-liter duffel bag that looks to earn its spot on my moto’s tail. Like the backpack, everything is watertight and constructed of 1,000-denier Cordura and features a bevy of rider specific design bits. As an added bonus, this duffle also comes equipped with hidden shoulder straps for easy schlepping. – Matt Nuendorf, Contributor
