Put a Pause On the Porsches
If You’re Sick of All the Old Porsches, Try This Rare and Beautiful Alfa Romeo
Last week, images from Luftgekühlt, one of the largest gatherings of vintage air-cooled Porsches probably flooded your news feed — and probably still is. And as beautiful and seductive as vintage Porsches can be, no one would blame you if you’re a little exhausted of them by now. So take a break from the German rear-engine onslaught with this immaculate 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale.
As one of only 1,366 examples built and part of an even smaller number shipped to the U.S., the rarity of this Italian sports coupe only adds to its beauty. The Bertone styling made the Giulietta Sprint Speciale easily one of the best-looking cars on the road — if you were lucky enough to see one. The seller notes a few chips in the paint, but that’s nothing out of the ordinary for the amount of use that the car has seen. And though the engine reads just over 6,524 miles on the clock, it should be noted that it is rebuilt. The interior has also been redone and brought up to factory spec.
There’s not much time left on the auction, so a quick bid will be your best chance. After that, it’s back to your regularly scheduled programming of vintage Porsches.
