It's Grilling Season
Wüsthof’s Newest Knife Is Made for Burger Obsessives
Loaded burgers — those composed of bacon-topped, sauce-slathered, inch-thick patties — are nearly impossible to eat cleanly. To prevent utter collapse — a bottom bun sliding out from underneath, caramelized onions slipping away — it’s best to succumb to the knife. But cutting a burger in half is hard to do without mangling a bun or two. Thankfully, from Wüsthof, a German manufacturer of high-quality kitchen tools, comes a set of knives engineered specifically for burgers.
Sold as a set of four, the high-carbon steel knives are marked by wide, round tips for spreading condiments and a serrated edge toward the base of the blade that prevents top buns from getting shredded when cut. With a $100 price tag, the solution-oriented concept isn’t for everyone — it’s reserved for the most burger-obsessed among us. Consider it an undoubtedly indulgent, yet still practical, gift.
