Fender Just Added 3 Essential Pedals to Its Effects Lineup

July 3, 2018 Culture : Music By

At Summer NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) in Nashville, Fender announced three new pedals for is effects lineup. Designed in-house by Stan Cotey — an expert with 25 years of experience in professional audio and 12 years of service at Fender — the pedals, which include a boost, a fuzz and a distortion, fill in the gaps in the brand’s current offerings.

The Engager Boost ($90) has a FET input buffer and gives players a 20-decibel boost for fatter tone. An ideal clean boost to drive a tube amp’s preamp, this pedal also has a 3-band EQ to help shape your sound.

If you’re looking for a new fuzz pedal, the Pelt Fuzz ($130) offers silicon-based fuzz sounds with a surprising amount of control. Traditional Level, Fuzz and Tone controls are complemented with a Bloom control to contour tone, a Mid switch to boost or cut midrange and a Thick switch to add some heft to the output.

The last and most expensive pedal is the high gain Full Moon Distortion ($150). Featuring a three-band EQ and a high-treble filter, this pedal allows players to use both symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping modes with a Texture switch and access to upper mid-range harmonics with a Bite switch.

Each of the pedals is housed in a lightweight, durable anodized aluminum enclosure and feature all-original circuits designed by Cotey and team. Available in September, they’ll add essential sonic textures well-worth the pedalboard space.
