The Bravur Scandinavia

This Accessible Minimalist Watch is an Ode to Scandinavian Design

Bravur is a Swedish microbrand that specializes in accessibly-priced watches with minimalist designs. I mean, would you really expect less from a Scandinavian watch company? So far the brand has released a few watches, most featuring quartz movements. Last year, the brand debuted its first automatic — the BW003 — and now its latest release, dubbed the Scandinavia, follows suit with an updated design.

The new Scandinavia ($995) features the same slim Swiss-made Sellita SW300 automatic as the brand’s last mechanical and is assembled at their facilities in Båstad, Sweden. The dial, though, features a much more pared-down case, with simple applied indices at each hour and a sleek minute track at the center. The case features a slim bezel and clocks in at just 39mm; Bravur doesn’t make any claims about case height, but the Scandinavia does look impeccably slim. While the design is generally modern modern, some vintage-looking details, like a slightly domed dial and crystal, are present. The watch is available for order now and comes in white, navy and black dial colors; buyers also get their choice of either a tan, brown or black strap.
