You Have Less Than a Day to Get Peak Design’s Newest Bags

September 20, 2018 Sports and Outdoors By

Two months ago, Peak Design launched its new Travel Line, which comprises a 45-liter travel backpack and a wash pouch, a tech organizer, packing cubes and camera cubes to go with it. The collection reflects an effort by the company to broaden its reputation beyond that of “photo accessory maker,” which it’s rightfully earned with the innovative clips and straps that it’s been making since 2011. As it does with nearly all of its products, Peak Design launched the Travel Line with a Kickstarter campaign that has, at the time of this writing, earned over $4.8 million. Yesterday, with two days left in the campaign, Peak Design announced two new bags and made them available to backers now.

Both of the new additions to the Travel Line are duffels — there’s the 35-liter Travel Duffel and the 65-liter Travel Duffelpack. Both are built around the other components that make up the rest of the Travel Line. Peak Design is quick to admit that the new bags are “half-baked;” they’re unfinished. Peak Design affirms that the foundation is in place, but that some details on the duffels will change between now and their estimated release in April of next year. The brand wants to get its diehard fans involved in creating those changes and plans to bring backers into the design process through surveys and direct feedback. Peak Design’s product track record is all aces, so there’s little risk in going in on these new, in-process bags, but if you do, you’ve got less than 12 hours.
