Know for making durable bags, San Francisco-based Joshu and Vela just added a leather duffle to its lineup of understated, well-made products. Available in black Italian pebbled leather and smooth Horween Redwood Essex leather, the bag features a water-resistant nylon lining with a zippered interior pocket and two pouch pockets. Both solid brass zippers — the interior pouch zipper and the main exterior zipper — are from legendary Swiss brand Riri. And, the American-tanned bridle leather straps, which are sized for over-the-shoulder carry, are secured to the bag with solid copper rivets. With a price tag of $548, this is definitely an investment, but it’s a bag that you’ll use for the rest of your life — in that sense, it’s a pretty solid value.
