Few brands own the winter the same way Canada Goose does. For years now the Toronto-based maker of cold weather gear has managed to strike a balance between style and functionality and as a result, they’ve earned a dedicated following among Alaskan outdoorsman and north-dwelling urbanites, alike. Now, with the help of Gore-Tex, Canada Goose is making a serious foray into wet weather wear with their new spring Nomad collection — slated to be available in stores and online on April 8th.

The collection is made up of two pieces, the mid-length Nomad HyBridge Lite Jacket and the long coat-style Nomad Jacket. The latter ($850) boasts a more traditional rain-slicker design but comes packed with functionality. In addition to the industry-leading breathable-waterproof fabric from Gore-Tex, the jacket has venting panels along the back and underarms. The hood on the coat also has a stiff brim, which helps keep rain out of your eyes and off your face.

The second of the two, the lightweight Nomad HyBridge ($750), is made with a Gore-Tex Infinium fabric, and abrasion-resistant, four-way stretch fabric that won’t constrict your movement. And what’s more, the jacket can pack down into its own pocket for easy storage when the skies clear up or you manage to find shelter.

All things said, the collaboration is exactly what one hopes it’d be: functional, technical, and stylish as hell.
