Alpina Seastrong Diver 300

This Rugged Dive Watch Is Available With Unique Case Materials

As the affordable sport watch side of the Frederique Constant group personality, Alpina offers aviation, mountaineering, and diving-themed collections. The Seastrong Diver 300 is the latter, of course, and new versions add some fashionable colors and designs to this otherwise rugged outdoor watch. In four different versions, different case coatings and a cross-hatch design on the dial add some welcome variety to the dive watch lineup.

Each new model has a steel case with a PVD coating using either titanium or bronze to achieve these somber colors. Titanium and bronze are most commonly used as the case material itself, so it is interesting to see them used as a coating for steel (even as just a coating, the bronze will likely still form the patina everybody loves). In 44mm wide steel cases (which are 300m water-resistant), the Alpina Seastrong Diver 300 will have a substantial feel on the wrist.

Alpina also recently released quartz GMT watches in a similar style, but these new models are powered by a Swiss automatic movement (most likely Sellita SW 200) with 38 hours of power reserve. All four versions of the Alpina Seastrong Diver 300 will have a price of $1,395.
