This New Motorcycle Helmet Combines Classic Looks and Modern Safety
Dutch brand Roeg has released a new full-face motorcycle helmet called the Peruna that looks zapped straight from Seventies-era motocross. This all-new shell design was meant for real use in the motocross and off-road scenes, sporting a large enough face hole for modern goggles that also provides optimum air flow and visibility.
The Pereuna design is a lightweight fiberglass shell that’s as stylish as it is functional, and as functional as it is safe; it meets the European ECE 22.05 safety standard, one of the toughest around.
In keeping with the classic aesthetic, Roeg has included a removable three-stud tinted visor as standard, offered in a variety of color options. Need your helmet to match your Seventies Bultaco? Never fear — the company offer the Pereuna in a variety of shades: Corn Yellow, Fog White, Matte Black, Metal Black, and Oompa Orange.
But all that style doesn’t come at the cost of function for the new Peruna. The innards are made of impact EPS liner covered in soft foam, as well as removable, washable cheek pads. Roeg has also included speaker pockets for each ear. Prices start at €249 ($282), but it’s only on sale in Europe; Roeg doesn’t sell direct, but if you’re headed across the Pond, you can pick one up at one of these retails across the Continent.
