GORUCK’s mission is to create products — from backpacks to boots — that hold their own in both war zones and on city streets. It might sound unfeasible, but probably not compared to what the company’s founder faced while serving in the US Special Forces. He drew on that experience to make the GR1, a backpack made of ultra-tough 1000-denier Cordura nylon.
The GR1 has both MOLLE webbing and a laptop compartment, a combination that was unlikely years ago but is common now. It’s an example of the military-everyday mashup that GORUCK has created, and a design philosophy it extends into everything it makes (including a pair of Vietnam-inspired jungle boots).
Right now, GORUCK is holding a Veterans Day Sale, and the flagship GR1 is 10 percent off. Other packs like the Rucker have steeper discounts (30 percent and up), and apparel is included too. All products are guaranteed to be straightforward, and more likely than not, tougher than you need.
Using super-tough materials and packing as much function as possible, these backpacks blur the line between tactical, outdoor and everyday use. Read the Story
