We’ve seen a few cool modern takes on the classical moon phase complication this year, chief among them the affordable Christopher Ward C1 Moonglow. At the other end of the affordability spectrum — but still dazzlingly cool — is a new piece from H. Moser called the Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept Aventurine.

Typically, moon phase displays utilize a small window toward the bottom of the dial, which is often necessitated by the presence of perpetual calendar functions such as day, date and month windows. Here, however, the moon phase takes center stage, blending into the aventurine and appearing as an organic part of the dial.

Available in red gold or steel and limited to 50 pieces each, the Endeavour features a 42mm case with beautiful aventurine dial, leaf-shaped hands and oversized moon phase window at 6 o’clock, as well as a power reserve indicator on the movement side. The in-house Moser HMC 801 hand-wound movement features an impressive 7-day power reserve and an absurdly precise moon phase with just one day’s deviation in 1,027 years.

Beautiful engineering like this doesn’t come cheap — the price for the Endeavour in steel is $35,000 and $39,900 in gold. However, if you have the disposable income and the desire for a moon phase that truly stands out from the pack and will surely turn heads, this is a watch to check out.
