The AGV Pista GP R Carbon series is essentially the top-of-the-line MotoGP motorcycle race helmet. AGV uses a super-light 100-percent carbon fiber shell and optimizes it in the wind tunnel for optimal stability, aerodynamics, and ventilation. It also has an integrated, no-fuss hydration system.
Splurging on a helmet is not abnormal. It is, after all, the most important piece of gear a motorcycle rider can buy. But, even for the everyday rider willing to spend, the AGV Pista GP R Carbon tends to be overkill for an off-the-rack helmet, with pricing sitting at around $1,600. That calculation may change with this massive discount: RevZilla is currently having a closeout sale on the 2018 Winter Test graphic version of the helmet, a limited-edition collaboration worn by seven-time MotoGP champ Valentino Rossi. You can now get it for just $900 — a $700 discount.
One potential drawback to that helmet, however — the color pattern is a bit much. Fortunately for those who prefer a bit less exuberance, this more sedate Project 46 2.0 version of the AGV Pista GP R Carbon is available on RevZilla with an identical discount.
