Jack Mason, designers of affordable outdoor watches, is churning out chronographs lately. You don’t believe us? Here’s another one.

But wait — this one’s even cooler! A collaboration with Taylor Stitch, purveyors of rugged, responsibly built clothing, the new Aviator Multi-Scale Chronograph is a 1930s-inspired watch that takes design cues from the “golden age of aviation.” Featuring wire lugs, a bi-compax chronograph layout (two sub-dials adorn the dial), a 42mm stainless steel case, an onion crown, a date wheel, 100m of water resistance, and dual tachymeter and telemeter scales, the Aviator is a nod to early-20th century and mid-century timepieces built with the latest modern materials.

The Aviator ships as part of a box set with a tan Italian leather strap and a navy canvas model, both in 20mm with quick-release pins for easy changing. Utilizing the Swiss Ronda Z50 quartz chronograph movement, it’s selling for $595. While there are bargains to be had in mechanical and automatic chronographs for about this price, quartz movements such as the one used here are easy to get along with and robust. If you dig the aesthetic, then, this is a cool everyday watch to consider.
