232 years ago, July 4th, the United States adopted the Declaration of Independence. A day commonly associated parades, barbecues and fireworks. If you’re wondering why that is, look no further than John Adams, who said:

“This day ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore.”

Fine words Mr. Adams… fine words indeed. So heed his advice. Get your grills fired up, crack the drinks wide open, pull a girl close, and enjoy your right to celebrate Independence Day. Happy Fourth, everyone.
