It Doesn’t Really Float, But It’s Just As Good

The Max Longin Bed Float. Not for your Sealy Posturepedic.

A floating bed. Hmm… In theory, sounds a bit Back To The Future-ish for our tastes, but what you see packed into this crate is a bed with seemingly effortless design. You may actually find yourself wishing you had the appropriate room to surround it in. Think: beach side bungalow. Giving the appearance of floatation, the Bed Float is held together using molded steel and wood bows that suspends the mattress on a pliable platform on steel cables.

The Bed Float takes approximately 90 minutes to assemble in your choice of ash, beech, cherry, elm, maple, oak or walnut hardwoods coated in three times in special parraffin oils.

Check out the completed Bed Float after the jump. [Thanks, Aziz]

Cost: $8,200 - $9,600 @ Max-Longin
