Troy,

I think you'll still see plenty of foot joy dry joys on any golf course you visit. Classic things are called classic for a reason, because they will never go out of style and always be there when the trends of the day pass on to something else.

The modern trend you're seeing in today's shoes is most likely do to the fact that the PGA tour is getting younger slowly but surely, and when people go to purchase something new, they often expect to see something different from what they bought 5 years ago. Foot Joy's have no risk of extinction in my book, so i'd suggest looking around a bit more before throwing in the towel.

I own the 2008 version of this shoe and can honestly say that it's nearly the best shoe I have ever worn.....period...I play 4-6 times/week and Nike has clearly figured out how to keep feet comfortable, dry and stable throughout play. I plan on getting the 2009 version when wifey starts talking to me again.....maybe I should limit my play to 4 days/week....yeah right....

man when did golf spikes all become so athletic in style? About 9 years ago, I worked at a private golf club pro shop where our most popular style was foot joy dry joy's. They were your typical saddle style golf shoe and i still wear my black/brown pair today even though they are in ruin. I was in golf galaxy earlier this year as I'm going to try to become more regular on my play this summer and noticed that even the classic dry joy's are now more reminiscent of a shoe you'd wear to play tennis in. What gives!
