Providing as much ice and snow-prowling capabilities without forgoing every bit of gas mileage you pay dearly for ,the Michelin X-Ice Xi2 is just as good serving as your primary tires as they are a second winter set, especially for our non-lower 48 state readers.

The X-Ice Xi2 utilizes a silica-based rubber compound that provides firmness for performance (high temps) as well as flexibility to pack into snow and ice; in addition, a directional tread helps evacuate water and slush. Less hydro/snowplaning, and more control, meeting the tire industry’s severe snow service requirements (look for the mountain/snowflake badge of honor on the side of the tire). No, they’re not the tires on an Arctic Truck, and not entirely cheap at an average of $90 per tire, but far less than a crushed fender.
