Autodromo, a stalwart indie watch brand known for its tasteful automotive-inspired designs, has just released a new version of its Group B watch — named after the insane, no-holds-barred rally racing series that ran from 1982 to 1986. The series emphasized exotic (for the time) lightweight materials and innovative designs. The Group B harkens to that in the way the 39mm case is made — a two-piece titanium case houses the Miyota automatic movement, and that’s held in place by a stainless steel “chassis.” As you’d expect the package is slim and light at just 9mm thick, and it weighs in at 52 grams.
The Group B has been out for some time now, but Autodromo reinvigorated the lineup with a new sunburst silver dial with yellow accents in lieu of the standard watch’s black dial. The silver and yellow colorway was available on the larger limited edition Evoluzione, but now, thankfully, anyone can pick it up — it certainly gives the watch a cooler, toned-down look. The watch comes in an aluminum box along with two nylon straps, one in gray and one in yellow.
