Home Theater Upgrade: Samsung’s Beautiful, Designed-Focused 4K TVs Just Got Better

July 3, 2018 Tech By

Samsung continues to be among the innovation leaders when it comes to 4K TVs. The company’s The Frame TV, which was released last year, is one of the coolest and most practical TVs you can buy. (Not many can fit Samsung’s 146-inch “The Wall” TV in their house, let alone afford it.) It’s a beautiful 4K UHD screen that also doubles as framed artwork; you have the TV display a wide array photos or paintings when it’s not being used as a traditional television. And now the company has made it even better.

The next generation of The Frame TV — The Frame 2018 TV — is now available on the company’s website. Compared to last year’s models, the new TVs are equipped with HDR10+ (an upgrade from HDR Pro), better smart controls such as Effortless Log-in, so you don’t need to sign into accounts on both your TV and smart device, and they now come with Bixby, Samsung’s virtual assistant, which allows the user to adjust things like the TV’s volume, change channels and control their smart home via voice.

As for what you can display on the Frame TV when it’s not being used as a TV, Samsung claims that there are now more than 800 available works of art to choose from in its Samsung Art Store ($5/month subscription).

The Frame 2018 TV is available in two models, 55- and 65-inches, starting at $2,000. There’s no 43-inch model at the moment, unfortunately, like there was for last year’s lineup.
