Seeing as the family of one of Heymat’s founders has run a laundry and industrial cleaning company through three generations, it’s safe to assume they might know something about durability. Started by Sonja Djønne and Thoralf Lian, the Norwegian company specializes in the making of tough and environmentally-friendly door mats. Heymat also collaborates with designers and artists to ensure its door mats are far from boring.

Made in tandem with Oslo-based desiger Kristine Five Melvær, Heymat+ is the company’s newest collection. Heymat+ comes in variations of blue, green or sand and is made with 100 percent recycled plastic and an anti-slip nitrile rubber backing.

If you’re in the US you won’t be able to purchase the mats through the company’s own website, but the whole set is available Nannie Inez — blue, green or sand — for $149.
