Bose just announced new noise-canceling headphones — the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 — and the company is calling them “the biggest leap forward in headphones since the iconic QuietComfort.” The 700s have a different design than the Bose QC35 II, most notably a slimmed-down headband without hinges, but the biggest changes are internal.
The 700s have been engineered with a new digital signal processor and a new eight-microphone system, which will supposedly cancel out noise better than the QC35 II. Maybe more importantly, the new microphone system is designed to dramatically improve call clarity; whether you’re in a loud subway or in a crowded office, Bose claims that the built-in mics are able to isolate your voice so that whomever you’re talking to can hear you loud and clear.
The 700s will have Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa both built-in; Siri will also be easily accessible if you have an iPhone.
The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 cost $399 and will be available on June 30. You can preorder them today in either black or silver. Even though the 700s will be Bose new flagship noise-canceling headphones, the Bose QC35 II aren’t going anywhere and will be the more affordable model moving forward.
