This New Tag Heuer Monaco Automatic Chronograph Watch Celebrates the ’90s

A few weeks back, TAG Heuer released the second of five watches celebrating the 50th anniversary of the famed Calibre 11 automatic chronograph movement. Tag chose to divide the past fifty years into five decades, each of which would be represented by a watch — now, the third of these timepieces is being released, and it celebrates the period between 1989 and 1999.

The 1989-1999 model features a blue and silver rhodium-plated dial with red accents, as well as sandblasted sub-dials with blue counters. A blue perforated calfskin strap continues the color scheme. As with the original Monaco, the crown is situated on the left side of the watch dial, while the pushers are on the right. Housing the famed Calibre 11, the modern version of the famed automatic caliber that debuted in 1969, the handsome 1989-1999 limited edition is limited to 169 pieces and will retail for $6,550.
