Florida-based E.C.D. Automotive Design is one of the biggest names in restored Land Rover Defenders, but the company taken things further than ever with its lated reveal: the custom build called “Project Invictus,“a meticulously-rebuilt Land Rover Defender outfitted for overlanding duty.

The original vehicle is a 1991 Land Rover Defender D110 sourced from the English Midlands. Don’t worry about heading into the wilderness with aging British mechanicals, though; ECD swapped the original engine for an GM LS3 V8 powerplant that produces 430 horsepower, and paired it with a five-speed manual. E.C.D. also added its custom air suspension for a better ride. The body is painted in Nara Bronze paint, with a satin black roof.

Overlanding accessories for Project Invictus include a Cascadia Vehicle Tents rooftop tend and shower arm, a Warn Industries winch, a Front Runner roof rack, Front Runner 20-liter steel jerry cans for water, ARB Tred Pro recover boards, a Midlands CB radio and a portable solar power unit.

High-end restored and modified Defenders are usually quite pricey, and so are accessorized overlanding vehicles. So, as you may suspect, this beautiful rig isn’t cheap. E.C.D.’s estimated price to recreate this build is $240,000. Still, we can think of a lot of worse ways to spend that kind of money.
