Yeti’s New Product Is Durable, Practical and Perfectly On-Brand

Yeti’s motto might as well be “simple but better.”

Perhaps no item in the brand’s ever-expanding catalog of coolers, bags and outdoor accessories better exemplifies the premise than a five-gallon bucket.

First released in 2017, the LoadOut Bucket may look like your standard fiver from Home Depot. But details matter in Yeti Nation, and a handful here separate the this versatile workhorse from the rest of the herd.

For starters, the LoadOut Bucket boasts a flexible handle, non-slip bottom and tie-down slots. It’s also made from thick HDPE plastic, meaning it doesn’t easily bend or break.

What really makes the LoadOut Bucket shine, however, is its range of accessories, including a padded lid that effectively turns the system into an ultraportable perch for the field or garage.

True to form, the so-called LoadOut Swivel Seat is designed to stand up to the elements. It’s UV-protected and abrasion-resistant, with a waterproof seal that’s easy to open with a finger-release tab.

And, thanks to a recent fall update, it’s now available in Yeti’s signature tan colorway.

It’s a simple refresh, of course — one that comes across as more form than function.

That said, there’s still a practical argument to be made for hunters who want gear that can seamlessly blend into the outdoors, as well as anyone in warm, sunny climates.

Theoretically, the lighter color should also reflect more sunlight than solid black.

Availability and pricing

The tan LoadOut Swivel Seat is now available from Yeti’s official website for $60.

It’s sold separately from the bucket, which costs $40.
