Like clockwork, a new month means new Yeti colors.

But “Moon Dust,” as the brand calls its latest hue, is different to your standard seasonal drop.

Since 2016, Yeti has released over 50 colors beyond the core collection of white, black and navy. “Moon Dust,” though, is only the fourth ever to feature a textured finish.

Don’t judge a bottle by its cover

Yeti’s first foray into textured bottles and tumblers came well over a year ago, when it released “Black Stone” and “Grey Stone,” both part of the limited-edition Gritstone collection.

Yeti then brought it back with “Cherry Blossom,” however, light pink is a tough sell to some corners of its fanbase.

All to say, “Moon Dust” should be a welcome addition to the fall lineup.

While the flourish does give it visual distinction over the smooth DuraCoat finish found on most Yeti Ramblers, aesthetics are only half the draw. In fact, for some customers, they might not even be the main one.

That’s because the textured finish does give them added grip — a boon for activities like fishing and sailing.

Regardless, the rarity of its finish means “Moon Dust” will likely go over well with all of Yeti Nation, even its residents who don’t live near the water.

“Black Stone” and “Grey Stone” bottles have become bona fide collector’s items, demanding hundreds of dollars a piece on site like eBay.

Availability and pricing

Fortunately, the “Moon Dust” collection will go on sale with standard Yeti pricing while it’s available on Yeti’s official website.

Shoppers with a Yeti account (free to sign up) have first dibs, with prices starting at $25 for the 16-ounce stackable Rambler cup.

“Moon Dust” goes beyond Rambler bottles. It also includes coolers and the five-gallon Loadout bucket.

The collection also includes the Roadie 15, Tundra 45 and Loadout bucket. That said, only the Rambler bottles have the textured finish.

The full launch is scheduled for September 26, although it’s unclear how long the items will stick around. Yeti calls “Moon Dust” a “limited drop.”
