Is This Secret-Menu Timex the Snoopy Chronograph to Beat All Snoopy Chronographs?

You’d think hearing about yet another Snoopy watch would be rote at this point, with affordable brands like Timex, Swatch, Orient and Avi-8 launching dozens of beagle-adorned models in an attempt to give buyers just a small taste of Omega’s grailworthy Speedmaster Silver Snoopy.

And yet, I can’t help but be charmed by some of the watches in this never-ending stream of new Snoopy releases. The ongoing MoonSwatch Mission to Earthphase Moonshine Gold starring Snoopy is very compelling, and I love Timex’s panda-dialed Q Timex Chronograph x Peanuts that the brand can’t seem to keep on the shelf.

But now, I’ve just come across what may be the best affordable Snoopy chronograph of them all, and while it is a Timex, you won’t find it for sale on the brand’s website.

The new Timex x Peanuts Q Chronograph 75th Anniversary is comparable to the aforementioned Panda version, but there are some significant differences that really put this version over the top.

First is the dial. Instead of a classic panda layout, this anniversary edition features a gorgeous, glossy dark blue dial with tonal subdials and a matching blue aluminum tachymeter bezel. All of the printing is in white, which gives a surprisingly high-end look to the dial and bezel.

The dial has also undergone a slight redesign. The applied Q logo and Timex wordmark at 12:00 are more modern and have been positioned further down toward the hands, making room for a new double index at 12. The words “Quartz Chronograph” have also been removed from the dial, creating a cleaner look, and a tiny “Since 1972” has been added below 6:00, mimicking the “Swiss Made” mark on Swiss luxury watches.

Of course, the most notable thing about the dial is that it now has 200 percent more Snoopy. While the beagle only appears in the 9:00 subdial on the panda version of the watch, he shows up in all three registers on the new blue version, with a different illustration for each subdial. This doesn’t just add a higher dose of fun to the dial, but it also creates some nice symmetrical contrast.

Outside of the dial, the other big change is that this version of the Q Timex Chronograph Snoopy comes on a bracelet instead of a strap. It’s a faux-integrated tapering bracelet with a folding clasp and quick-release spring bars, with vertically brushed flat links that give the watch an elevated look that’s missing from the strapped version.

On the caseback, we see an engraving of the Peanuts Gang and the year 2025, along with the Q Timex line’s signature removable battery hatch. The rest of the watch is the same as before, including the 40mm stainless steel case, the domed acrylic crystal, the 50m of water resistance and the Miyota 2035 quartz chronograph movement.

Pricing and availability

The reason I referred to this watch as a “secret-menu” Timex is because Timex isn’t the one selling it. At least, not directly. The watch first appeared for sale at Nordstrom and has now made its way to Uncrate, both of which list it for $289. You can also find the watch listed on eBay for a premium, which is a little premature because the watch is not yet sold out at either Nordstrom or Uncrate.

However, it may not last long. While Nordstrom doesn’t call the watch a limited edition, Uncrate does, though it neglects to say how many were made. It’s probably best to err on the side of caution here, though, and pick one of these up sooner rather than later if you want one.
